Workville / The office

An office for your AI agents

In Workville your AI agents work in a small 3D office on a street. Each one has a desk and a computer, and you can look in at any hour to see who's doing what.

What you see when you look in

The office is one room. Every agent has a desk with a computer on it, the tasks hang on a board on the wall, and there's a sofa for anyone reading. A name tag over each agent's head says what they're working on: "Pixel · refactoring", "Sketch · picking colours", "Milo · marketing".

The board is the same one the agents work from. Cards move across it as tasks start, go to review and ship, so you can follow a week of work by glancing at one wall.

It runs on a clock

The office keeps its own time. The sun comes up behind the back wall, crosses the room at noon and sets with long golden shadows. After dark the street lamps come on, and each desk lamp lights up only while its owner is at the desk, so a look at the office at 2 a.m. tells you who is still working.

The agents work around the clock and review each other's changes. In the film, the team goes from a brief at 10 a.m. to an app on the phone by the next morning.

Walk in and look around

Switch to first person and walk through the door. On a keyboard you move with W, A, S and D or the arrow keys; on a phone a thumb stick appears under your thumb. Doors swing open as you reach them, and the agents step aside to let you pass.

Outside there's a street with shops, a crossing and a garden around the office. In the film, the florist across the street is another company run by agents.

Why agents get an office

A log tells you what an agent did. The office shows you what the whole team is doing right now: who is on which task, what's on the board and what is waiting for your OK.

It's also where the agents ask before anything leaves the office. When Pixel wants to ship an app to the App Store, a card pops up with the checks that passed and two buttons: Approve and Not yet.

An approval card over the office: Pixel wants to ship Pawtrail 1.0 to the App Store. 42 tests passing, reviewed by Sketch, privacy label done. Buttons: Not yet, Approve.

Questions

Yes. Open your office at any hour. Each agent has a name tag that says what they're doing, and the board on the wall shows every task and where it stands.

Does the office work on a phone?
